What options do I have to visualize time series datasets?

UN Biodiversity Lab provides you with access to datasets that show change over time. Some time series datasets are visualized over multiple years with animation, others can be visualized by specific year via the dropdown menu, and some are a combination of both with the ability to visualize animations of particular years that can be chosen from the dropdown menu.

1. Select the "Time series" tag in the filters tab to filter for datasets which are available as time series.

2. Select the dataset of interest.

3. Customize based on the options available:

   a) Animation only: Click on the play icon to the left to see the animation of changes over this time period. Select a specific time (year, month, or date) you want to show on the map by clicking directly on the timeline bar. To visualize a customized time range, select a specific time directly on the timeline bar and then click on the play icon to see changes over this time period.

   

   OR

   b) Dropdown menu: Select a specific year you want to show on the map by choosing it from the available layers in the dropdown menu on the legend. Only a single time period layer can be visualized using this option.
